Dr. Thea has a passion for working with individuals who are making a difference in people’s lives every day. She weaves her academic and clinical knowledge into down-to-earth messages that engage and inspire. Known as a “counselor’s counselor” she provides human service professionals with the practical, real world skills needed to effectively work with clients and colleagues.

As a psychotherapist she has worked with a wide range of clients, from teenage substance abusers to inmates in a Florida prison. It was during a group counseling session she led in 1999 when she discovered her passion for helping victims of violence and abuse. She has advocated on behalf of sexual violence victims, domestic violence victims, child abuse victims, and individuals with disabilities.

Dr. Thea has a Ph.D. in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University and was an Assistant Professor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. She specializes in assisting human service organizations with implementing proven business practices while keeping their passion for helping individuals.
