Louisiana Fall Prevention Coalition

Falls are the leading cause of injury hospitalization in Louisiana. Approximately 150 Louisianans die as a result of a fall injury each year and 9,600 Louisianans are hospitalized for fall-related injuries.
The Louisiana Falls Prevention Coalition works in partnership to help the people of Louisiana maintain their independence and enhance the quality of their lives by reducing falls and fall injuries.
We represent a diverse group of individuals from a range of disciplines who have an interest in preventing falls by concentrating on four areas:
- Community Living
- Data Management
- Education and Awareness
- Policy/Advocacy and Sustainability
Our volunteer coalition is open to professionals and organizations in Louisiana interested in preventing falls. Please contact Dr. Thea Lobell at thea@drthea.com for more information.
Fall Prevention Awareness Day will be held on the first day of fall – Wednesday, September 22, 2010.
