Choosing the right retreat location

• Clients have asked “does the retreat have to happen away from our office? We have a nice conference room.” Yes, it does have to happen at a different location. The goal of the retreat is to create a different atmosphere and it can only be accomplished in a different setting.
• An ideal retreat location is cozy and beautiful. Either the building or the setting should be beautiful. Examples include: old homes turned into meeting centers and state park meeting areas. The location should be relatively close to the office so participants do not have to drive a burdensome amount.

Retreat room set-up

• Participants need sufficient table space and need to see one another. This can be achieved with a large conference table, tables arranged in a U, or a square.
